Brian is a successful and well-qualified manufacturing manager with over 25 years’ experience in this field. He is particularly recognised as working within complex logistical environments. Brian has vast experience in business process reengineering, strategy development and turnaround interventions in the manufacturing, construction, defence and rail sectors in both SME and multinational organisations. He is also well experienced with the practical application of culture and change management as well as a sound knowledge of applying lean tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, Kaizen and Kanban.
Brian began his career as Quality Technician and has since held positions in Project Management, Logistics, Change Management and Business Turnaround before becoming a business improvement specialist 8 years ago. Some of his key achievements during his career include improving on-time delivery performance from 85% to 98% by reengineering the supply chain processes of a £25m multinational organisation, introducing pragmatic and workable lean tools and techniques to deliver a 500% increase in despatch rate and creating a cross-functional team managing all activities from order receipt to despatch by analysing and evaluating the logistics of an under-performing organisation. More recently, he has developed an improvement strategy with a regional management team of a major national transport operator, then presented the initiative at operational depot level and mentored over 100 engineering staff, delivering the best regional improvement performance in the whole group.
